Divided we stand

The Earth Was Blue but There Was No God

I was a stomach sickened sapling in astronaut pajamas
waiting to grow beyond my humble home
of earth’s generous soils.
I was the ill tempered father of none, son of one, and
brother of all who wished to stand by the moon and all
of its light.
I was a newly sewn quilt to be the warmth
of all those who will come
to brave the winters
dying
cold.
I was nothing surrounded by
Everything

And would cease to be
as the sky was fully in motion
